“DisneyLand Facts”
- DisneyLand’s original Tinkerbell was Tiny Kline, a 4-foot-10-inch-tall circus performer and aerialist who was 71 years old when she flew down a zip-line from the top of the Matterhorn to start the “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks show.
- One of the employees of DisneyLand in the 1960’s was Steve Martin, who honed his talent for crafting balloon animals-a staple of his early stand-up act-while working at the Magic Shop. Other famous former cast members include Michelle Pfeiffer (who played Alice in Wonderland in the Main Street Electrical Parade), actress Rene Russo, and Ron Ziegler (press secretary to Richard Nixon, who did duty as a skipper on the Jungle Cruise).
